First Irving

College Ministry at First Irving

Welcome to the College Ministry at First Irving. If you are college age, and looking for a place to belong, learn, serve, and grow, we would love for you to join us. Sunday mornings are the first (and easiest) point to connect to the life and ministry of First Irving. We are starting a new series on the book of Acts. I hope you will join us!

Every Sunday morning, college students meet for coffee at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall (downstairs under the gym). At 10:00 AM, college students come to Bible study in the fellowship hall and then attend the the worship service at 11:20 AM.

We believe the Christian life is to be lived in biblical community.

Community Groups are small groups of students that meet in apartments, homes, townhomes, and dorms on and off college campuses. The mission of our Community Groups is to grow the gospel in our hearts and to advance His kingdom on earth. These groups meet together weekly to pray, study the Word, eat, serve, share the gospel, and simply live life together. There is a place for everyone to grow in a community group.

For more information about getting plugged into a Community Group, their times or locations, email Janelle Hartsfield.

We want every college student to find a place to connect, belong, and serve at First Irving. Each year, our college students are encouraged to go and serve for God’s glory wherever He has called them. They are encouraged to serve through community groups and on special trips through the Missions Ministry.

Please check the Missions page for an updated list of opportunities.

Do you have small groups? What do they do?

Yes, our small groups are called, Community Groups, and we desire all our people to be committed to one. In these weekly small groups you'll be able to pray together, serve together, discuss how to live out the gospel, and simply live life side by side with other people. For more information about connecting to a CG, contact Janelle Hartsfield.

If I need community service or ministry hours, can I get those with First Irving?

If you have a desire to serve, we have several opportunities for you to use your gifts and passions. If you need community service hours, internships, or are looking for a place to serve and grow, please contact Jonathan Galvan

What should I expect? What should I wear?

You can expect a welcoming and loving atmosphere. You can expect to hear the Word of God preached and taught each week, and the teachers will challenge you to incorporate that teaching into your life. At First Irving, our focus is on our hearts, not the outward appearance. We tend to be really laid back, so wear whatever is comfortable and decent.
