Text: Hebrews 4:14–16
Questions:
- What are some difficult things that you (and family) are experiencing during this season? How have these things affected you?
- What comfort is brought to you by this passage (Heb 4:14–16), knowing that Christ sympathizes with us? We often think about Jesus in terms of being King, Christ, Savior, Creator, God the Son (and He is fully all of those things!!)… but sometimes we forget to consider that He is also the Son of Man… and endured much in the flesh for us. He knows the difficulties of the flesh… yet without sin!
- When we consider that He is a sympathetic High Priest, who is praying for us and wants us to approach his throne of grace and mercy, how does this encourage your heart and change your mind in how you respond to difficulties?
Prayer Points:
- Heavenly Father, would you allow me to see Jesus in a new and fresh light as I read and consider this text.
- God, would you take my disappointments and help me to approach your throne in my time of need. Help me to rest in Jesus.
- Father, thank you for Jesus. Thank you for all that he endured in the flesh, accomplished on the cross, and is still doing as he prays for me at your right hand.
