Table Talk: The God of All Comfort

Text: 2 Corinthians 1:3–7

Questions:

  1. What are some of the emotions that you have been feeling over the last week in the midst of this outbreak?
  2. Where have you been tempted to turn for comfort that offers a false promise of comfort? Have you been tempted toward sin?
  3. What does Paul teach us about seasons of discomfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3-7? How can we find comfort in God, who is the God of all comfort?
  4. How can you take action to guard your heart moving forward from turning to places of false comfort?

Prayer Points:

  1. Father, help us to turn to you alone in this season of discomfort.
  2. May we see the truth of Psalm 63: that you alone are what we long for most.
  3. Father, would you use this time to root out anything in us that doesn’t fully honor you? Would you help us to see if we have found comfort in the wrong places?
