Romans 12:1-2
Recap:
1. What are the two ways that we are united with Christ?
2. What are some of the mercies of God seen in your salvation or throughout this week?
Reteach:
3. Romans 12:1 – What has been helpful reminders about the Gospel the past several weeks? What is the indicative of v.1 and what is the imperative (indicative: by the mercies of God / imperative: present your bodies as living sacrifices)? How do the mercies of God lead us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices?
4. Romans 12:2 – What is communicated by the passive verb [meaning the subject undergoes the action rather than doing it] “transformed” (It means God brings about the transformation, not us)? Why is this important to remember? How does the text say God accomplishes this? And how are our minds renewed (Col. 3:16; Heb. 4:12)?
5. Romans 12:9-13 What does the text say is the goal of a renewed mind? Why is it important for members of the church to know the will of God? What is God’s will for how the church should act toward one another?
Reflect:
6. What has been the predominant source that is renewing your mind? Is it God’s Word or another source?
