Colossians 3:5-11
Recap:
1. According to Colossians, what are important aspects of our identity (We have been buried with Christ and have been raised with Christ are made alive in Him)?

3. Colossians 3:5-7 – Who is Paul writing to in this passage and how should that bring caution to our reading? Why does Paul say that we should put to death our sin and the old self (v.1 – because we’re raised with Christ)? How does the Scriptures talk about what sin is? What is the root of these sins according to Paul and how can this be?
4. Colossians 3:8-9 – What does Paul say that has happened to church with regards to their old self (v. 9b – the old self has already been put off)? Why does Paul provide this reminder to the church and why do we need it today?
5. Colossians 3:10-11 – Where is there no division according to the text (v.11 – in Christ)? How were these groups able to be united according to the text? (Because Christ is all) How does our view of sin reveal our love of Jesus? (If we have a lack of hatred for our sin, it will show our lack of love of Christ) Which of the steps of killing sin did you find the most challenging?[1]
