A Safe Place To Grow

First Irving Women exists to ignite a passion in the hearts of women for authentic fellowship, engaging discipleship, and intentionality in living out the love of Christ in Irving and around the world. We are a diverse group of women from all stages and walks of life who desire to grow in our relationships with Jesus Christ and one another.

We invite you to join our community through Bible study, prayer, or special events that we offer throughout the year. Please explore the links to your right to find your place in the First Irving Women’s Ministry. We have saved a seat for you!

Study on Prayer

Zoom Call | Teacher Alicia Frick

Prayer is a wonderful privilege, and necessary practice, in our growing relationship with Christ; and one we often have the most questions about. Our first week, we will examine scripture to find answers to common questions: What is prayer? Why should we pray? When should we pray? and How should we pray? The Lord's own disciples asked this very question! We will carefully study His response, known as the Lord's prayer, and discover four key aspects: adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. Then, over the next four weeks see how each is used in other scriptural prayers and learn to utilize scripture in our own prayer life. The zoom meeting link will be provided in your email confirmation upon registering.

Join the women of First Irving for Worship & the Word Friday night on April 5th. Our guest speaker is Vaneetha Rendall Risner. Vaneetha Rendall Risner is a freelance writer and a regular contributor to Desiring God. She blogs at danceintherain.com, although she doesn’t like rain and has no sense of rhythm. Vaneetha is married to Joel and has two daughters, Katie and Kristi. She and Joel live in Raleigh, North Carolina. Vaneetha is the author of the book The Scars That Have Shaped Me: How God Meets Us in Suffering.
