Uncovering The Treasures Of Christ

At some point, it is healthy and good for children to leave home and venture out into the world. Whenever this point arrives, the hope for every Christian parent is that their student would treasure Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, that they would be practiced in understanding and living out God’s Word, and move into the world with a Biblical worldview. First Irving’s Student Ministry exists to come alongside parents in developing mature followers of Christ who are prepared to leave home, treasure Jesus with their whole hearts, and who seek out and embrace His will for their lives. We would love to partner with your family to this end, and we hope to see your 6th-12th grade students up on the 3rd floor!

Colossians 1:28

"...Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ."

At First Irving Students, we believe Parents are designed to be the primary disciple makers of their children. Deuteronomy 6 says that parents are to teach the ways of the Lord to their children so that they may know God, and love him with all of their heart, soul, and strength. In the tab below, you will see Family Worship Reading Plans, Guides, and other resources that are meant to help in teaching the ways of the Lord in your home, to encourage your family to love Jesus Christ with everything that you have. We would love to be a part of encouraging your family in whatever ways we can.

Wednesday Gatherings

For most students, their schools do not help them love Jesus. In fact, most students tend to get bogged down in their affections for and obedience to Jesus because their everyday environments do not encourage it. Because of the intense pressure our students are under, it is crucial for students to not only abide in God’s Word daily, but to gather with fellow believers to decompress, remember the Gospel, and be challenged to persevere in Christ.

This is the aim of our Student Gatherings. 6th-12th grade students are invited to come hang out with their friends and play some crazy games, participate in God-honoring worship, hear creative Bible lessons, and talk about it in small groups. All are welcome!

Student Groups

Even as Christ met with the multitudes to discuss the things of God, He surrounded Himself with a hand full of people to be in deep relationship with. At First Irving, we believe this model to be crucial to the life of believers, and students are no different. Being a student in our culture is hard, but having tight knit friends, with the same convictions can really help bring life and happiness to your walk with God. We break our large group of students into groups to help with this. We divide up by age every Sunday mornings to build better friendships and grow deeper with Christ together. Join us this Sunday on the Third Floor to get connected!
