First Irving

First Irving Student Ministry

First Irving’s student ministry seeks to equip 6th-12th grade students to 1) Treasure Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and 2) Fulfill the Great Commission by helping others treasure Christ. Our theme verse is Colossians 2:7 which says, “Let your roots grow down into Jesus and let your lives be built on Him.”

We have Student Bible Fellowship (SBF) from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on the 3rd floor of the Kinkeade Building and then go to the 11:20 AM Contemporary Worship Service on Sunday Mornings.

Wednesday Student Gathering is held every week on the 3rd floor from 6:15 - 7:30 PM. During this time we meet in the Gathering Room for some crazy games, great music and a talk geared directly towards students. Afterwards, we enjoy some time to hang out and fellowship down in the gym from 7:30 - 8:30 PM.

We also host an annual Disciple Now weekend for students in the winter. This is a fun and engaging time where students set aside the weekend to tune out distractions and focus on growing more in their relationship with Jesus Christ!

Each year our students have the opportunity to participate in a number of events and trips, which include camps and mission-focused activities. Listed below are several trips that we’ve been a part of in the past.

  • South Irving Missions
  • HS 5th Quarter Outreach
  • Turkey Bowl
  • MS Lock-IN

  • Timberline Camp
  • Forest Glen Camp

  • The Houston Project
